Dateline Newark, Delaware:
In an effort to avert a widespread zombie infestation, Newark’s public officials warn that Saturday, October 16 marks the first annual ZombieFest and threatens to draw zombies from throughout the tri-state area. Sponsored by The Days of Knights and Captain Blue Hen Comics, this undead convergence dubbed ZombieFest ’10 is slated to begin at 3 pm and shamble onto midnight.

The event features:
• Local author Alan Edwards signing his award-winning medieval fantasy zombie novel, The Curse of Troius. (http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8074846-the-curse-of-troius).

• Buz Hasson and Ken Haeser , graphic artists of The Living Corpse, will bring the Living Corpse in person! (Buz has given permission to use pictures from his site in promo materials.)(www.corpsecomic.com and www.buzworld.net)

• Fantasy artist Cathy Wilkins, whose work is featured in White Wolf Publications, will show illustrations that will chill your soul! (www.monsterparade.com/ www.epilogue.net/cgi/database/art/view.pl?id=32938)

• Captain Blue Hen Comics will be on hand with a wide selection of undead comics and graphic novels. www.captainbluehen.com/

• Professional photographer Chris Mlynarczyk hosts a Zombie Meet & Greet starting at 7pm. This is open to all models, special effects artists, make up artists and most especially photographers. • The Haunted Experience of Pencader Plaza will bring a plentiful supply of zombie make-up, costumes and accessories. www.thehauntedexperience.com

• The Local Chapter of the Zombie Research Society will ably assist in shedding light on the zombie threat! www.zombieresearch.org

• A plethora of zombie related merchandise will be on site and on sale for the zombie enthusiasts. Zombie games will be played with abandon, including the newly released Zombie State, Diplomacy of the Dead.

• A Zombie Miniature Painting Contest after judging there will be a Zombie Hunt miniature game! Stop in The Days of Knights and get a Zombie miniature to paint for the contest!

The evening culminates in the first ever Newark Zombie Crawl! Most places serving alcohol on Main Street are participating! Those dressed as a zombie for a special treat at a special rate.
